ALPINE BOTANIC GARDEN
Artexplora's
Alpine Botanic Garden

All botanic gardens bloom thanks to passionate people.

Botanical direction, selection and organisation of plants and flowerbeds: Lucietta Godi
Design and architecture of the garden, flowerbeds and land art installations: Claudio Cavalli
Organisation and production: Artexplora Cultural Association A.P.S.
Located in Piedmont and situated in the Devero alpine location of Arvinelli, the garden extends itself over an area of 7.000 sq.m. within the private land of Cavalli-Godi property. It is composed of ample spaces of the original field, 26 flowerbeds with a selection of over 600 varieties of plants, 3 main trails (one along Devero torrent, one under the rocks, and a council median crossing), a fountain, a big pond and two small streams, land art installations, outdoor furniture.

The grassland area will increase for a few more years, adding new selections of garden and bedflowers.

Born in 1991, the botanic project started with the rescue of the original field, left in its free natural state and with limited herbs cuts only in the proximity of the residencies. The first planting experiments started in 2009, followed by the realisation of the first bedflower in 2012, in the vicinity of the chalets. In 2018 officially began the actualisation of the alpine botanic garden.
This year the botanic garden has been recognised by Ossola Protected Areas authority and included in the CETS: European Charter for Sustainable Tourism.
